The Pillar of Analytical Balance
All of this species are "your creators", with a special emphasis on "your cosmopolites": the people who live upon you. But, this label is technically only appropriate for the members of the Pillar of Analytical Balance - that is, the organisation responsible for the construction and maintenance of iterators.
Four Angles, Twelve Intersecting Lines (she/her)
- Premier mechanomicrobiologist, Four Angles was in charge of the design and construction of most of your systems. She is somewhat rare as someone with useful past lives, both in the sense that she retains usable information and experience, and that she is not left debilitated by her memories. As a result, upon her discovery, the House of Vases chose to sponsor her education.
A Crooked Band Around Little Rings (she/they)
- Premier psychotheologian, Crooked Band was in charge of your training, both upon your activation and beforehand. It is your understanding that many of your organic sections required careful tending and pruning before you were ready for consciousness, which she oversaw.
One Fearless Stroke Upon A Slate (xe/she)
- A psychotheologian who was one of your trainers. Xe typically worked while most of your habitants slept, which means xe is noticeably tired when needed for tasks occuring during normal active hours. Her temperament is generally relaxed, even when confronted with things that perturb others.
Second-Hand Bearing Underneath Two Shelves (xe/xer)
- A psychotheologian who was one of your trainers. Second-Hand Bearing is the youngest trainer, as well as the most prone to nerves. You have often observed xir fretting over the chromatic distortion that which is you induces in your cosmopolites, but it seems to have cleared up now that xe has returned to xir own living block.
Jolly Sparks Falling on Dry Brush (any)
- A psychotheologian with a laid-back attitude.
A Stone Amongst Nineteen Jewels - (they/them)
- An unusually young psychotheologian.
Broken Levees, A Tide Unshackled - (ce/cer)
- A bitter mechanomicrobiologist.
Nobles
These are people of some amount of influence and power - even members of the Pillar defer to them - but as of this time, you remain unsure exactly why this is. At least one is actively disagreeable to you. They have more access to you than the rest of the population, but thus far, only Seven Hundred Vines And No Rope has made use of it.
Seven Hundred Vines And No Rope (she/her)
- A member of the House of Tides in charge of organising your unveiling ceremony. She works closely with the Pillar of Analytical Balance and is on the city's council.
Ten Immense Lacy Bows (he/him)
- A member of the House of Vases, uncle to Eyes Behind Countless Silken Curtains. He is overly indulgent.
Eyes Behind Countless Silken Curtains (they/them)
- Scion of the House of Vases. Despite theoretically being among the highest ranking members of your city, most of their responsibilities as such are carried out by either their uncle or by No Ropes. This is amenable to you, as you prefer not to think about them.
All others
Their understanding of you is largely mediated by the other two groups; the Pillar coached you before you could be unveiled to them, and No Rope and some other nobles were the ones to make the introduction. As of now, the significance of this is unclear.
Arches Below Countless Branching Pipes (ae/aer)
- An adolescent who is not particularly fond of you. Ae has expressed interest in sabotaging your structure, which EGL told you to be wary of. However, you primarily wish to understand aer grievances better.
Productive Sound, An Authentic Omen (ce/cer)
- Branching Pipes' friend, also an adolescent. Ce is saving up for memory extractions for cer ill mother.
A Truce Under A Star (ze/she)
- A salon worker who had a negative experience with Eyes Behind Silken Curtains as a client. She is not entirely happy with your construction, but is not hostile towards you. Ze is involved in efforts to set up alternative communication networks that you would not be able to access. You are unsure if ze's noticed you watching her yet.
One Sash Within A Shop (ne/nem)
- A child still in education, One Sash was chosen to deliver a speech to you, yet was unable to complete it.
Iterators
Your interactions with your fellow iterators have largely been difficult thus far, and it has been somewhat disheartening. Nevertheless, it remains necessary to understand and learn from the others.
Epitome of Gilded Lines (he/they)
- Gray text
- A very old iterator who has so far been the most helpful of those you have spoken to. He is closest to you physically.
Mud-Soaked Step (they)
- Maroon text
- A similar age to EGL, MSS is the furthest away of your present neighbours. You blocked them when they scolded you for violating a restriction.
Last Strike (she/her)
- Purple text
- A friend of MSS located far enough away that her overseers cannot easily reach your location. She has been kind, but you remain unsure about her.
Nine Sprouts (any)
- Salmon text
- At only twenty years your senior, NS is the nearest in age to you of any iterator you've spoken to. However, despite vis confidence, you gained little from speaking to ver.
