What follows is a series of performances, all very interesting, but none that require a particular degree of attention from you. This is so for your citizens, as well; the crowd has dispersed, some lingering to watch the stage, others wandering around food tables and chatting amongst themselves. Several screens are scattered around the park area, with even more dispersed through other open spaces in the city, so it isn't difficult for your citizens to watch, no matter where they are.
However...
This would have been easier had you immediately sent an overseer after One Sash Within A Shop, but you failed to do this. The realisation of your error displeases you enough for you to divert multiple overseers to the task of finding nem.
You expected to find One Sash seated with others, or perhaps retired to ner living block, similar to many others of ner age class right now. Instead, ne has concealed nemself in foliage in a crude attempt at camouflage, mask askew, crying quietly.
This emotion is "pity".
You tend to watch your creators from a distance, but One Sash has not noticed you, and it would be startling to initiate communication without ner awareness of your attention. Therefore, your only option is to seek it; you position your overseer just at the edge of ner feet, and lean up to look at nem.
One Sash jolts back with a yelp of surprise. Perhaps this was unavoidable, then.
You look at nem. Ne looks at you. After a moment of silence, One Sash hurriedly fixes ner mask and tries to brush the dirt off ner wrinkled clothing. These attempts are largely unsuccessful.
"Ah - um - I...I'm, I'm really sorry about today..." One Sash clutches ner frock, something you have only rarely observed an adult do; this is unsurprising behaviour from a juvenile, however. If ne was in your bridge, it would be possible for nem to hold onto your puppet's robes instead, which would be more socially appropriate. Lacking this, ne is forced to make due with what ne has. As before, it elicits a feeling of pity. "We, um...I...I'm sorry."
Your overseer is unable to vocalise, so you project a message: You have already apologised. A second is unnecessary.
One Sash blanches. This response was inappropriate, then. "Ahhh...I...um..."
This is unpleasant. There have been multiple situations in which your lack of knowledge has caused an unfavourable outcome; as a result, it may be necessary to think more carefully about how to respond.
What would be appropriate to say? You wanted to know why One Sash had this reaction, and now, why ne sits here alone instead of with ner caretakers. Furthermore, this was the first time such a thing had ever happened to someone directly addressing you; your creators view your puppet's attention as the most legitimate form, and thus not only has contact with it been limited to a small number of people up until today, but everyone who has addressed your puppet has carried themself very differently from how they do when out in the city.
In essence, One Sash has been unusual. Furthermore, having seen nem in this state elicits a feeling of purpose within you. Your creators suffer, and your duty is to ease their suffering. It is thus important to understand, and perhaps resolve, One Sash's unhappiness.
But how?
