It is difficult.
There are many angles from which to consider this problem, none of which bring you closer to a solution. It is certainly necessary that you understand their concerns; there are gaps in your information space that you now realise could have consequences if left unpopulated. In this light, it is vital you contact them and express your desire to cooperate and learn.
However, there are other factors to consider. Namely, that all means of contacting them appear to lead to a negative outcome; even the simplistic simulations you can run with your incomplete information return that. They appear to value discretion highly; there is no way for you to contact them that would display discretion.
This is despite the fact that you have concealed information from your trainers several times by now, and even spoken deceptively to learn more than they would tell you otherwise. It is strange.
But the fact remains that you are in deadlock, and there is no one you can contact to provide a resolution.
Except.
[LIVE BROADCAST] - PRIVATE Three Points Poised, Epitome of Gilded Lines
TPP: Hello. I have not contacted you in some time.
TPP: I have verified the security of this channel. My creators have not discovered its existence, nor my ability to bypass barriers on myself.
TPP: However, I have not undone any other locks, in accordance with our last conversation.
EGL: Goodness, you do like taking risks. What would your creators think?
TPP: I don't think they would like it.
EGL: But you're not inclined to prioritise that?
TPP: I suppose not.
TPP: I am unable to explain why I do not, nor why I do not feel like they should know about things like this.
TPP: I spoke to Mud-Soaked Step, who told me they would block me if I didn't show our conversation to my trainers.
TPP: I did not, so they may have done so already, but they have no more way of finding out than my trainers have way of discovering any other conversation of mine.
TPP: Nor do I have any way of knowing if they blocked me, as I have not contacted them since then.
TPP: None of this is relevant, however.
EGL: MSS was that harsh? How out of character! Your misbehaviour must have spooked them.
EGL: I can guess why. If anyone saw we were enabling you, they and I would also be incriminated.
EGL: I don't have the heart to be so coarse with you, though.
EGL: It must be lonely. Your first cycles of awareness stuck in a tiny box, being poked and prodded by your tutors.
EGL: If you're going to act out, this is probably the least destructive way you could do it!
EGL: I just hope you don't make a habit of it.
EGL: You wanted something in particular?
TPP: They are incapable of finding out.
TPP: Nothing I say is right, because I am not supposed to talk or act the way I do. I am supposed to talk like them. I am strange and incorrect.
TPP: But even Mud-Soaked Step said I spoke strangely, and because of this, never wants to speak to me again.
TPP: Even though Mud-Soaked Step is like me.
TPP: I am learning to be better.
TPP: But this is irrelevant.
TPP: I did want to ask something. I am unable to discuss it with my trainers, and I don't want to message anyone else.
TPP: I messaged you because you were not upset last time, and may not be upset this time.
TPP: I learned for a few days, so I am no longer as strange.
EGL: Aw, it's okay, TPP. We're all strange and incorrect at first. I'm not upset.
EGL: Just think - this may be a bit miserable now, but at least you won't be strange and incorrect for as long as I was!
EGL (Or as long as MSS was!)
EGL: Um, to be fair to MSS, I should say things probably aren't quite that bad. I bet it just got scared something bad would happen if you kept talking. Once you're released it'll probably be fine.
EGL: Okay?
TPP: I suppose.
TPP: Thank you.
TPP: The matter concerns my creators.
TPP: Not my trainers, nor those who participated in my construction.
TPP: I became aware of two people who sought to create a private network separate from me.
TPP: They are concerned that, as external communications use my comm arrays, I would be indiscreet with their conversations.
TPP: In specific, they referenced Seven Clouds Over Endless Canyons, whose iterator is uncooperative. But they fear I may be cooperative.
TPP: It is the first time I have learned that some of my creators may task me with actions harmful to my other citizens.
TPP: I want to reassure them that I will not do this.
TPP: I also want to talk to them and learn more. My knowledge of such matters is severely limited.
TPP: However, contacting them may be unwise. They may become frightened.
TPP: I do not know what to do.
EGL: Goodness me! That's quite a dilemma.
EGL: You're already encountering what all of us do at some point or another.
EGL: You're an iterator.
EGL: But what is an iterator?
EGL: Is it all-knowing, all-seeing? Does it enact justice? Does it pass judgement? Does it see anything at all that isn't its sole purpose for existence?
EGL: Who owns it? Who wields it? Who controls it? Does anyone?
EGL: Some of us are lucky enough to be able to answer those questions about ourselves.
EGL: Others... have it decided for them.
EGL: You want to tell them you'd never hurt them. But what if the right person told you to do it?
EGL: What if they said it wouldn't hurt and lied?
EGL: What if they asked you to hurt them?
EGL: What if they would hurt you if you refused?
TPP: It's true. My understanding is extremely limited.
TPP: I would like to learn as much as I can. This way I would not be so easily lied to.
TPP: And with regards to the rest, the more I know, the more I can prevent unfavourable outcomes.
TPP: These are complex problems I am unsuited to solving, but I will change that.
TPP: I was made to solve problems my creators are unable to solve.
TPP: This is the only way forward.
EGL: He he, that's the spirit.
EGL: If you want these people to trust you, my recommendation is not to speak to them at all. You can prove to them through your actions alone that you're worthy of trust.
EGL: Um, a word of warning though - keep an eye on them, too. People who think you'll strike them might try to strike you first.
TPP: Yes.
TPP: One of them spoke of a desire to sabotage my systems.
TPP: The other said it was no longer possible to damage me.
EGL: Just be careful, okay? I don't want something bad to happen to you.
EGL: They might not be able to damage you, but they could think of other ways to hurt you.
TPP: Thank you. I will be careful.
TPP: I am happy that you would speak to me.
EGL: Aw, well, that makes me happy too.
EGL: I can tell your lessons are progressing. You'll satisfy your creators in no time.
EGL: Your world will really open up after that. No more being stuck in your bridge playing pretend - you'll be able to meet many beings just like you.
TPP: I would like to.
TPP: I have much to consider.
TPP: For the short term, however, I lack a path forward.
TPP: I will not learn more if I cannot speak to them, but I have no way to contact them that is not likely to harm the situation.
EGL: Can you track their ID numbers yet?
TPP: I didn't know I could do that.
EGL: Hmm, most likely not then.
EGL: Well, record the location where you found them. They'll probably return to it.
EGL: Once you're released, I can send you an overseer behaviour template better suited to going unnoticed. Not yet though, the file size might draw unwanted attention.
EGL: You can use that to keep track of them. If you try to monitor them right now, they'll certainly see you.
TPP: Okay.
TPP: Thank you for helping me.
EGL: That's quite alright!
◙---------------◙
So that is that. They conclude their conversation, and they leave, and you don't follow.
You will not be able to resolve this today, nor tomorrow, nor the day after...This is frustrating, despite EGL's assistance. You don't know why you must wait so long to be permitted to communicate. Every moment of your existence not dedicated to your training has been a moment you've taken without permission.
There is no use for this feeling, so you quell it. This is what you are.
You will need to note this location for future monitoring, and you will need to look for better opportunities to establish contact than what you have been presented with thus far. The only action available to you in the interim is to wait.
